Nabo attends Kim Jong's memorial service
zmoq posted a photo:
OK, I've got the bear, made the uniform, took the photo... what else can I do? How 'bout having some fun?
Nabo stands beside young Kim Jong Un at Kim Jong Il's memorial service. Rumor has it that he was kidnapped 40 years ago by Kim Il Sung and held captive in North Korea until he escaped just last year. Even though he resents the Kim dynasty for his captivity, the North Koreans insisted that he return to pay last respects to their Glorious Leader. As it turns out, he was the only US military officer to attend. Look! the photo proves it!
Baloo jiggler out of the package

I was the winner of the auction. Put all my weekend overtime money in to this! According to Sue, the seller, she had this since the 60's and never opened it. She collected vintage stuff, but wasn't too keen on keeping her Jungle Book jigglers, so they went on ebay, ready for the person who wanted it more, like ME.
Once I got it, the question was... keep it in packaging or remove it? "Toy Story 2" was all about adult collectors keeping rare vintage toys mint in package, as opposed to toys being freed and having fun and making unforgettable memories (like my original red bear).
It didn't take too long to whip out the razor blade and free Baloo from the package.
Baloo (Nabo) in new clothes
zmoq posted a photo:
Baloo (taking the name of childhood bear Nabo) gets a set of new clothes. He always wanted to be Gi Joe. I remember chopping down Gi Joe and Action Jackson boots and clothes in an attempt to get the uniforms to fit Nabo and his Spooky Kooky minions.
Fortunately, over 4 decades, I'd gotten really good at tailoring doll-sized clothing. So, once out of the package, my new bear got a tan uniform, somewhat influenced by the uniform that Sgt. Carter (Gomer Pyle, USMC) wore.
Jungle Book Baloo jiggler in package

My parents bought me one of these w-a-y back in 1967. Baloo came in at least 3 colors, dark red, orange and dark green. My original bear was a dark red one, and was much abused during my childhood. He lost his ears, his hair, and both of his feet, having only 2 stumps left. I knew it was going to be hard to replace him. Unlike Spooky Kookys, there isn't any unused warehouse stock lying around. In Sept of 2011, I was astonished to find one of these on ebay. Never thought I'd see one of these BRAND NEW.
Note kids, $1.39 was A LOT of money in 1967. Asking your parents to buy you a $1.39 toy was the *equivalent* of asking for a DOZEN comic books, or over 25 candy bars.

"Cat was made by Schuco in Germany. He is from the Bigo Bello Range 1950/1960's. He is the smaller size 7 1/2 inches tall. Made of mohair with velvet and big Googly Glass Eyes. He is not jointed."
